BCC Introduces the 2019 Golf & Greens Staff

The practice facilities revealed themselves on Monday for the 2019 season and today, Friday, April 26th we are excited to announce that it is the opening day of the golf course here at BCC! It may not feel like spring quite yet in New England, but we are looking forward to the long golf season ahead!  We'd like to take the time to (re)introduce you to our Golf Shop and Greens Department teams:

From the Golf Shop...

Steve Hosack, Head Golf Professional, grew up in Philadelphia and has spent his professional career at clubs along the east coast.  Steve moved to Vermont after accepting the Head Golf Professional position at BCC in the winter of 2018 after spending five years as the First Assistant at Baltusrol Golf Club in Springfield, NJ.  Steve's fiance, Kelsey recently relocated to Vermont from Florida after working for the PGA of America and has now taken a role at the Special Olympics of Vermont.

David Jankowski, Director of Instruction, resides in Jay, Vermont with his wife, daughter and son.  David brings a wealth of golf instruction knowledge and believes that golfers who strive to improve should participate in instructional maintenance programs.  David has honed his skills at some of the top facilities including the Stowe Mountain Club and Concession Golf Club in Bradenton, FL.  David brings with him a long list of playing accomplishments; he has twice qualified for the PGA Professional National Championship, was named the Vermont "Player of the Year" in 2014, won the VT PGA Match Play Championship in 2015 and VT PGA Stroke Play Championship in 2014 and 2018.

Kevin Bennison, joins BCC this year as the First Assistant.  He attended Western New England College where he played on the golf team for four years and was recently inducted into their Hall of Fame.  He turned pro in 2003 and was elected to membership with the PGA of America in 2009. Kevin most recently was the Head Golf Professional at Manchester Country Club in southern Vermont.  He comes to us with almost 20 years of experience in the golf industry and he is going to be teaching lessons, playing golf with our members and running the BCC Club tournaments this year.

Evan CartyAssistant Professional, comes to BCC from the Country Club of Barre where he spent the last four seasons.  Evan will be heavily involved in the day to day operation at BCC and he will also be running our Junior Golf Programs including the Junior Golf clinics, camps and the PGA Junior League.

Brennan Earls, Assistant Professional, is entering his second season at the Burlington Country Club.  Brennan grew up in central Vermont and is currently working on getting his Class A membership with the PGA of America. Brennan will be running women's league and tournaments this year and will also be heavily involved in the day to day operations.

From the Greens Department...

Joe Martaniuk, Golf Course Superintendent, started at BCC in 2005 as the Assistant Superintendent.  Joe graduated with a Bachelor degree in Plant & Soil Science from the University of Massachusetts.  Joe is a Vermont native, growing up in Windsor and now lives in Colchester, Vermont with his wife and two daughters.  Joe transitioned into the Superintendent role in the spring of 2015 and has since kept the tradition of excellent conditions.

Justin Leombruno, Assistant Golf Course Superintendent, also grew up in Vermont and came to the Burlington Country Club in 2009 to work on the greens staff.  Justin graduated with an Associates degree in Turfgrass Management from SUNY-Cobbleskill and is very passionate about the game of golf and takes pride in his profession.

We can't wait to see you all on the course this season!  Happy swinging!
