Mid-Season Swim Team Report
Chandler Brandes, Head Coach, is back for yet another season and we are so lucky to have her enthusiasm at the pool every morning for practice! Helping Chandler run the BCC Beta Fish is Maddie Strasen, a returning coach and Liam Manion and Grace Palmer, who are both former swimmers of the BCC Swim Team.
With over 100 swimmers on the team this year, some returning and some who are new, the BCC Beta Fish has had a successful season thus far with only a few more weeks remaining. To date, the Beta Fish have earned victories over the Saint Albans and Middlebury swim teams - yay! Their last home meet for the season is this Tuesday, July 16th and in a few short weeks, they will be wrapping up their season at the State Championship Meet the weekend of August 3rd & 4th in White River Junction.
Although the league is competitive and the swimmers practice every weekday morning, Chandler, Maddie, Liam and Grace foster a learning environment for athletes to improve their skills, while also making sure that having fun and team sportsmanship are a top priority. Each Friday is team building day where the coaches facilitate activities such as pool games and relay races and after practice, the swimmers get to enjoy a light breakfast as a reward for their hard work and dedication throughout the week.
We wish the BCC Beta Fish a successful end to their 2019 season!
